Welcome back to SoccerPulse for another Community Transmission!
Today, we're going to talk about the big changes coming on Wednesday, December 19 for iOS AND Android (That's right, this update will apply to both versions of the app). Let's dive into what's new and what's changed.
For version 2.6.0, we really wanted to overhaul Team Form and introduce some new ways to give feedback to your players.
New Feature: Coach Comments
The first new feature comes in the shape of Coach Comments, which, as the name implies, allow coaches to leave comments for players after training sessions and games, to give more context to their ratings.
Comments appear anonymously, and multiple coaches can write comments to the same player. Comments can be used to give the player feedback, or can be shared just amongst coaches, depending on if you've turned player visibility on or off.
New Feature: Squad Rank
If you have player visibility turned on, players will now be able to see where they rank in the team right from the My Performance screen. Clicking on the rank will give them an in-depth look at exactly where they stand in terms of training form and game form. The cells will never reveal which coaches gave the ratings, or the names of the other players.
The goal of Squad Rank is for players to see how far they are from the top or bottom of the team, and give them additional motivation to keep pushing themselves. Squad Rank can be sorted by a week, month, 3 months, or 9 months.
Improvements: Sort Team Form by Date and/or Rating
When we decided to add Squad Rank as a new feature, we also made the decision to completely overhaul Team Form to make it load faster and perform more powerful searches. You can now sort your players by name, game form, training form, or total minutes played, and break it down even further by adjusting the date.
Want to know who the best player was in training this week based on feedback from the entire coaching staff? Now you can.
Improvements: Team Tactics
While Team Tactics is still only on iOS devices, we made major improvements to decrease the initial load time, as well as making it easier to view the tactics of other coaches in your team. Just like Team Form, you can now decide the time period for player form.
Want to know your best IX for the last month or even the last 9 months? Now you can.
As this is our last update for 2018, we wanted to thank you all for being a part of the SoccerPulse community. The app and these improvements would not be possible without your continued support, so thank you for all your feedback and suggestions. We have some great things in store for 2019, including our upcoming web app, a partnership with Heart Rate monitoring company, and improved ways to help plan your sessions.
Did you use SoccerPulse this fall with your team and have success? Share your story with us by emailing us a short write up of how it happened. We'll feature you on our blog and get your story out to all our followers on social media.
That's all for now. Happy Holidays and a have a safe and happy New Year.
Until next time,
